I have a really wonderful opportunity to share three of France's
best known cheese regions' products with a small number of friends in a tasting/seminar
format.
I will conduct the tasting, and may be joined by Sheri Sauter,
my wine guru (keep your fingers crossed, she'll know in a matter of weeks, possibly
days whether she achieved her Master of Wine status!!!).

- The cheeses and wines are being organized by Fromages.com,
my favorite source for French cheeses (you may have heard me talk
about them before).
- The seminars will be conducted in Port Washington,
NY. Directions available upon request.
- The price of the series is $90 for all three sessions. This will include
the cheeses, wines, breads, handouts, and lecture and guided tasting.
- The events will last approximately 2 hours (though we won't mind if
people linger!)
- Registration is only available for the entire series, though if you
wish to split a series with a friend you are welcome to do so (eg, find a substitute
for yourself if you can't make one of the sessions)
- The series will be held if we have a maximum 10 participants. That
means that as word gets out in the next couple of days the spaces may fill very
quickly.
- Please reply by email (epicurean@sturman.com) or by telephone (516
883 7892).
- Payment accepted by cash or check only, please! Checks may be made
payable to epicurean.
These are bound to be great events, and you will be tasting wines and cheeses
you will not be able to access otherwise here in the US. All the cheeses have
been selected to be presented at their peak of seasonality and ripeness (it
makes the same difference in cheese that it does in tomatoes!).
Please note: the optimum condition for a tasting is to have an empty stomach
and a clean palate. However, we recognize that 8 pm is not the best time to
have either one. We therefore strongly recommend that you have as early and
as light a supper as you can manage, please rinse your mouth, and keep the flavors
fairly bland. This way you will be able to best appreciate the flavors and the
combinations we will be serving. Don't bother with dessert, we'll surely have
fruit and something sweet as well!
I look forward to hearing from you very shortly, don't forget,
there is a DEADLINE for registration!
Best regards,
Sue Sturman
